SUMMARY:The Delgado Brothers Band
DESCRIPTION:Fountain Blues Foundation and San Jose Jazz are pleased to present the Delgado Brothers Band.\nPropelled by their 2016 International Blues Competition win in Memphis\, Tennessee\, driven by fierce independence\, unified by family and fortified by the brotherhood of music\, the Delgado Brothers deliver the musical goods; topical anthem-worthy songs complemented by call-to-action lyrics\, soul stirring blues rock guitar solos and Latin-flavored percussion. \nThe Delgado Brothers—eldest brother Bob Delgado on bass\, middle brother Joey on guitar and vocals\, younger brother Steve on drums and vocals\, David “B” Kelley on Hammond B3 and Victor Bisetti on congas and timbales—have longtime been referred to as Los Angeles’ best kept secret. \nEach member of the band brings a unique style of musicianship to the Delgado Brothers brand. Indiana-bred Kelley came West in search of “groove and diversity.” An incredibly gifted musician\, David’s playing on his vintage 1972 Hammond B3 adds tone\, texture and depth to the sound. High-energy percussionist Victor Bisetti\, with his ebullient beats and Latin conga rhythms\, packs each song with vitality and panache. To witness a Delgado Brothers live performance is to testify to the synergy\, emotion\, work ethic and true musicianship of the band. \nThe band’s fifth studio album\, Two Trains\, contains 11 originals that Blues Blast Magazine call “…smartly crafted songs of love\, social awareness and tolerance\, all sung with deep emotional commitment…” They veer into a realm reminiscent of the classic rock of the Doobie Brothers and The Eagles while remaining true to the blues. \nAbout Fountain Blues Foundation\nThe Fountain Blues Foundation\, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization\, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the indigenous American music genre known as the blues. Through various initiatives\, including live performances\, broadcasts\, lectures\, and community education\, the foundation strives to uphold the rich history of the blues. The centerpiece of its efforts is the San Jose Fountain Blues & Brews Festival\, the longest-running blues festival in the Bay Area.\nThe foundation recently integrated the Silicon Valley Blues Society as a partner\, enhancing its ability to promote and staff events. Key collaborations with the San Jose Downtown Association and San Jose Jazz further strengthen its impact. A proactive Board of Directors focuses on year-round fundraising events\, showcasing regional blues artists and embedding the blues in the community’s cultural fabric. \nFoundation Goals:\n1. Provide a Platform: Offer live performance opportunities for blues musicians amidst diminishing prospects.\n2. Community Exposure: Introduce the broader music community\, especially young artists and audiences\, to the blues genre.\n3. Mentorship Opportunities: Create avenues for musicians to find mentorship and industry experiences fostering professional growth.\n4. Local Partnerships: Collaborate with local venues and merchants to promote the blues art form and contribute to San Jose’s economic development. \nLearn more about Fountain Blues Foundation at FountainBlues.com \n\n\nA Venue to Anchor Downtown San Jose’s SoFA Arts District\n\n\n\n\nThe SJZ Break Room is a unique setting for live music\, shaped by the evolution of audience habits and technology. As you arrive\, you’ll recognize the bold new aqua entrance vestibule painted by artist Ben Henderson to refer the venue’s symbolic water cooler. Lighting turns an office into a hip\, bar-appointed club space with a psychedelic animated backdrop and twinkling table lights. Most performances are livestreamed\, with the feed projected onto a towering bank of windows to for an immersive experience not found anywhere else. \n\n\nLearn more about SJZ Break Room\, 310 S 1st St\, downtown San Jose \n
