SUMMARY:We're BluesChasers
DESCRIPTION:Originally called “Mr. Cool & BluesChasers”\, they began their journey in Merida\, Venezuela on January 2003\, playing local venues. Later on\, same year\, with the preamble of the civil upheaval against the totalitarian regime and corrupted government\, they hunkered down and dedicated themselves to incorporating the music of Howlin’ Wolf\, SRV\, Blues Breakers and the Allman Brothers into their style. After the “smoke” cleared\, the band again began playing music halls\, jazz and blues festivals\, touring across Venezuela. However\, things got worse in the Caribbean country and Abi and his children eventually sought political asylum here in San Jose in 2015. \n \nAbi and his middle son Alfredo (Bass) launched the BluesChasers again a few years later calling them “We’re BluesChasers\,” and recruited friend Dave Warren (SJSU Class of ’22) to play guitar and sing. All started to work out pretty cool for them\, when suddenly… Covid. Back to the cave. Jeez!. Fast forward to 2023: A few personal changes later and friends Ted and James were invited to unite the current line-up. Abi and Ted are faculty/staff (and James is an outstanding Graduate student) from the San Jose State music program\, with all members claiming Alumni of the university. Together with well over 100 years of gigging and writing experience\, they have combined their expertise to create a repertoire and write original music to share with their audience. \nThe Band: \nDavid Warren – Guitar\, Vocals\,\nAbi Romero – Organ\, Piano\, Harmonica\, Vocals\nTed Kamp – Drums\, Vocals\nJames Conelly – Bass \nThe Fountain Blues Foundation Stage is located between First and Central. \nMay 18th \n\nLauren Halliwell & The Dirty Sound\, 11-1:30\nAnthony Arya Band\, 2-3:30\nBob Gonzalez Band\, 4 – 6\n\nMay 19th \n\nRJae Haas Band\, 11- 1:00\nPearl Alley Band\, 1:30 – 3:30\nWe’re Blueschasers\, 4 – 5\n\nBoogie Music Festival \nChosen as one of the South Bay’s Best Music Festivals by Silicon Valley Metro Readers for multiple years running\, Campbell’s Boogie Music Festival draws a staggering 50\,000 to 60\,000 attendees from across the Bay Area.
