About the Artist
Discovered at just 16 by Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, British blues-rock powerhouse Joanne Shaw Taylor has built a career defined by jaw-dropping guitar work, soulful vocals, and electrifying live performances. Stewart immediately recognized her rare talent and invited her to tour with his supergroup D.U.P., launching a trajectory that would see Taylor become one of the most respected guitarists in modern blues and rock.
A fierce and expressive player, Taylor has earned praise from legends including Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Cliff, Joe Bonamassa, and Annie Lennox—an endorsement that speaks volumes about her blistering guitar prowess and musical depth.
Her debut album White Sugar (2009) introduced audiences to a stunning new voice in blues-rock, pairing fiery guitar leads with heartfelt songwriting. She followed it with a string of acclaimed releases including Diamonds In The Dirt, Almost Always Never, The Dirty Truth, and Wild, each further cementing her reputation as a powerhouse performer. Her breakthrough album Reckless Heart cracked the UK Top 20, while The Blues Album (2021), produced by Bonamassa and Josh Smith, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Chart.
Taylor continued her chart-topping momentum with Blues From The Heart Live and Heavy Soul, albums celebrated for their soaring guitar solos, gritty grooves, and modern take on classic blues.
Her tenth studio album Black & Gold released in 2025, Joanne Shaw Taylor brings her explosive guitar mastery and soul-drenched blues-rock to the stage.
