M’Sippi Slide

June 15 @ 3:30 pm - 4:10 pm at Plaza de Cesar Chavez

About the Event

Poor House Bistro Stage: M’sippi Slide (pronounced Mississippi Slide) features a great lineup of musicians that are leading a local revival of classic R&B. The vocals are handled by Lijah Raoof who brings to life the vocal styling’s of Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Ruth Brown, Mavis Staples, Koko Taylor and many others. The fans of the band will tell you that they feel like they are transported back to the 1950’s & 60’s and that they are hearing the music as it was intended; raw and emotional with a powerful beat that makes you move your feet. The additional band members are three highly respected blues musicians in the South Bay Area; Johnny Cat Soubrand on guitar, Frank DeRose on bass and Scotty Griffin on drums.
