M’Sippi Slide

June 15 @ 3:30 pm - 4:10 pm at Plaza de Cesar Chavez

About the Event

Poor House Bistro Stage: Experience the revival of classic R&B with M’sippi Slide at the San Jose Fountain Blues and Brews Festival! Led by the powerhouse vocals of Lijah Raoof, reminiscent of Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and more, M’sippi Slide takes you on a journey back to the raw, emotional sounds of the 1950s and 60s.

Transport yourself to a time when music was vibrant, soulful, and moved you to your core. Feel the irresistible beats that make you sway and groove with every note. Joining Lijah are esteemed blues musicians from the South Bay Area: Johnny Cat Soubrand on guitar, Frank DeRose on bass, and Scotty Griffin on drums.
Lijah’s passion for music traces back to her upbringing in San Jose, where she was immersed in the sounds of Aretha, Marvin Gaye, and more, thanks to her father’s influence. With M’sippi Slide, she brings these influences to life, captivating audiences with her own soulful renditions and infectious energy.

Since forming in late 2022, M’sippi Slide has garnered a dedicated following, with Johnny Cat and Frank DeRose helping Lijah refine her craft and find her true rhythm and blues voice. Now, they’re ready to share their electrifying live performance with you at the Poor House Bistro stage.

Don’t miss your chance to witness the magic of M’sippi Slide at the San Jose Fountain Blues and Brews Festival. Get your tickets now and be part of a musical experience that will leave you longing for more.
