Delgado Brothers with Special Guest Chris Cain

June 15, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

About the Artist

Propelled by their 2016 International Blues Competition win in Memphis, Tennessee, driven by fierce independence, unified by family and fortified by the brotherhood of music, the Delgado Brothers deliver the musical goods; topical anthem-worthy songs complemented by call-to-action lyrics, soul stirring blues rock guitar solos and Latin-flavored percussion.

The Delgado Brothers—eldest brother Bob Delgado on bass, middle brother Joey on guitar and vocals, younger brother Steve on drums and vocals, David “B” Kelley on Hammond B3 and Victor Bisetti on congas and timbales—have longtime been referred to as Los Angeles’ best kept secret.

Each member of the band brings a unique style of musicianship to the Delgado Brothers brand. Indiana-bred Kelley came West in search of “groove and diversity.” An incredibly gifted musician, David’s playing on his vintage 1972 Hammond B3 adds tone, texture and depth to the sound. High-energy percussionist Victor Bisetti, with his ebullient beats and Latin conga rhythms, packs each song with vitality and panache. To witness a Delgado Brothers live performance is to testify to the synergy, emotion, work ethic and true musicianship of the band.

The band’s fifth studio album, Two Trains, contains 11 originals that Blues Blast Magazine call “…smartly crafted songs of love, social awareness and tolerance, all sung with deep emotional commitment…” They veer into a realm reminiscent of the classic rock of the Doobie Brothers and The Eagles while remaining true to the blues.

Chris Cain

Chris Cain offers up a soulful stew of Memphis style electric blues. His powerfully deep vocals and jazz inspired, blues guitar riffs are unforgettable; uniquely his own, while reminiscent of the legendary BB King and Albert King.

Cain recalls, “I remember when I was a kid, my dad would be mowing the lawn with the stereo blasting Muddy Waters. When I look back, that was pretty cool! There was always music playing at our house, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Freddie King, Albert King, all the greats.”

At the age of eight, Cain taught himself to play guitar and began playing professionally before he was eighteen. Chris studied music at San Jose City College and was soon teaching jazz improvisation on campus. Over the next twenty years, Cain would also master piano, bass guitar, clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone. The combination of his blues upbringing and his jazz studies melded to form the searing guitar style that sets Chris Cain apart and has moved him to the top ranks of the blues music scene.
